What movies are you watching?

I'm kind of annoyed that they didn't stick to their original vision with Mortal Kombat, as I really enjoyed the last film and would have liked two films of build-up before a tournament in the third film; but Internet nerds with no patience complained, so they changed everything up for this sequel, and turns out that wasn't "right" either

sunday update on my endeavor to watch all the movies on the aggregated list of the greatest movies of all time put together by theyshootpicutures.com. my deadline is my fortieth birthday in about in about 18 months, so you have a lot of these weekly post to look forward to.

this week i watched another John Ford movie, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. bleh

and two Fellini: one very early, I Vitelloni, which was alright. had some obvious Fellini markings. the other was a later Fellini and just not my kind of movie, Juliet of the Spirits. The colors were nice but I'm really just not interested in other people's dreams or drug trips, which is what this felt like.

And tonight I watched Toni Erdmann, the German comedy from 2016. Certainly it was funny, but I'm not sure why this one was accepted into the canon so immediately. shares a sensibility with Ruben Ostland

252 movies to go, and, at least according to Letterboxd, less than 600 hours. i can still do this

Not really on the site itself (or very little). I have my account hooked up to a Discord server about movies, so every time one of the members logs a movie or posts a review it gets shared on a dedicated channel and it usually leads to conversation about the movie. It's fun.
