I mean, they did 99.99% of the buildup to it last season, there was nothing left. If they had waited even one more episode, it would’ve felt like they were wasting huge amounts of time.

Personally, I wanted to see more Alys Rivers haunting dragon riders

Up until the last ten minutes, that felt like poorly-directed, budget-cutting execution. #fog

At least we got a new title sequence—now with 40% more drums!

First sequence in any GOT series that takes place on the Isle of Faces (I presume) includes a guy shitting while squatting over a log, gotta love it.

I wouldn't say it was great, but the battle was pretty cool. The actress playing Sheepstealer's rider did an amazing job. Her screams were chilling.

Also glad we got a major character death. Spicy.

If you really wanna know from me and not let the show tell you
Spoiler: show
the island they are on is called the Isle of Faces and is the center of the God’s Eye lake that Harrenhal sits at the north end of. It is the site of the signing of the pact between the Children of the Forest and the First Men after their war. The Green Men was an order formed to protect the weirwoods on the Isle of Faces and due to it being a largely inaccessible island, many stories about who the green men actually are blur the lines between fact and fiction, but having tough, green skin and antlers is one of the bedtime stories children in Westeros are told

I read an episode recap that annointed Lohar as the worst character in all of the GoT universe.

I don’t know if I would go that far, but I was annoyed by her “I’m a weird fierce pirate captain, but I’m a GIRL” act; felt like pandering

Yeah for sure. The angle was more that she’s just good at everything - fighting, leading, tactician - amid a sea of more complex and flawed characters.

She was a terrible character. Awkward writing and performance.
