Restaurant History: Planet Hollywood

Post by washing machine »

Just saw someone wearing a Planet Hollywood tee and it brought back vague memories of this Hard Rock adjacent concept. I'm forgetting a lot, but I do recall owning a shirt of my own from a trip to Orlando.

What was the food like? What kind of shit was on the wall? What did the servers wear? I don't recall any of these details, but I remember their collapse was sudden and epic.

The very first Tony party I ever went to after moving to New York was at a Planet Hollywood.

Audra McDonald showed up with her own bottle of SoCo and started a food fight. It was magic.

I also remember a jacket Stallone wore on display somewhere. And maybe a Chewbacca suit?

Never stepped foot in one. Even at a young age, I could tell it was garbage.
