Very rare occurrence
Binging The Bear while sipping nice wine
Bro in law needs to crash as his train is canceled
He is here
I shall never have the solitude I crave

The cherry on top was being awakened pre dawn by someone running very loud industrial equipment in the alley directly behind our house. I called the cops immediately. It stopped after fifteen minutes or so. Who does that?doug rr wrote: Fri June 26, 2026 5:21 pmthat sucks...my wife leaves for most of the day with friends as they are all going to the NZ/Belgium game tonight and an early dinner...I'm going to order crappy food and watch baseball....we watched 4 bears last night and will do 2 more before she leavesspike wrote: Fri June 26, 2026 3:22 pm Wife and kid went off to the in laws

Did the cops arrive, and if so, what did they say? I can't imagine calling the cops on someone operating equipment.

I dunno, I told them I didn’t need them to come to my place at all.washing machine wrote: Sat June 27, 2026 2:39 am Did the cops arrive, and if so, what did they say? I can't imagine calling the cops on someone operating equipment.
You’re underestimating how loud this was, essentially twenty or so feet from our bedroom. It was 6:30am, town ordinance is no construction or heavy machinery noise til 9am on weekends.

I guess I get it. Where I live, there's roosters, lawnmowers and roofers at the crack of dawn, so when I hear you saying running equipment, my mind goes to working a job.

Happened to sit next to a table of teenage boys at the pool the other night. It might have been the dumbest conversation I've ever heard. There were no less than 126 "bro"s muttered.

It’s not just the boys. The girls use it constantly, too.Monkey_Driven wrote: Wed July 01, 2026 8:10 pm Happened to sit next to a table of teenage boys at the pool the other night. It might have been the dumbest conversation I've ever heard. There were no less than 126 "bro"s muttered.

Nothing wrong with edibles. I do agree that gambling and collecting shoes is lame tho. Sorry, LV.

While Pittsburgh isn't as wild as say London, NYC or LA I am thankful my interactions with weird/strange people on public transportation have been very small in number
yesterday there were two. it annoys me to no end people that smoke on the platforms even though there are no smoking signs everywhere. well the first guy comes walking towards the train, cig lit and puffing away and his arms were each carrying bags. just as the door closed he stuck his foot in to stop it. in that brief second i analyzed that he indeed was going to get on the train smoking a cigarette and not giving a Eff about anyone and also we made eye contact though very brief. I lunged at the door when he pulled his foot back but thankfully the train started moving.
as we are moving i know see a lady pacing back and forth the two trains (it was a four car train, with each 2 sections connected to each other) and ranting about something. I only have two stops until the end of the line and at the first stop she is still pacing and mumbling but gets off. as the train doors close she tried to get back on the train.
people...i tell ya
