What's your go-to marinade or seasoning?

Last night I tried Old Bay. When I was looking thru our various spices and blends I noticed the Old Bay can suggested poultry so decided to go for it. Pretty tasty and didn’t remind me of a seafood boil at all, which was my fear.

Usually I just go with salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, onion powder and smoked paprika if I’m not doing a store bought blend. I do like Tony Chachere’s quite a bit.

I grabbed a Rick Stein cookbook from the library last week. I should probably crack it open.

Doing this instead, as wife has been requesting and it’s easy. Day got away a bit…

Been obsessed with fennel since that dish. Roasted some and tossed it with Parmesan and parsley as a side for my steak tonight.

I like fennel, but I’m gonna have to ease into it with Mrs Wease.

What parts of the bird did you use in that chicken dish? I’m gonna make it this week.

The fennel cuts the sweetness of the orange and honey nicely. I don’t think Mrs Wease will mind it.

Went to the grocery store with pasta on my mind. A new fancy fresh pasta place just opened up adjacent.

Alas, there was a nice butcher betwixt the two establishments, and the Italian sausages began flirting with me.

I’ve ended up with a glorious abomination, mashing up sausage and peppers with fettuccine Alfredo (maybe not THAT creamy and cheesy).

I am a shit pig.

Making Spike’s fennel chicken dish. Hopefully I didn’t make a catastrophic mistake by mixing the oil in with the marinade instead of putting it over the fennel and onions. It smells absolutely divine roasting in the oven right now.

Should make the chicken skin nice and crispy. Hopefully not burnt!

The only effect it seemed to have was to make the glaze really thin. That was a fantastic dish. It’s definitely going in the rotation.

The farts have already hit, and damnation, they’re rough.
