Put the guys in a nice-sounding room, throw some mics up, record the songs.

It's not complicated (at least it doesn't have to be).

I know they like to bang on about how working for two weeks in LA means they can focus on the work and so on but I think I'd really like to hear the results of a series of unhurried sessions spread out across a year or two made whenever they actually felt like recording something.

It's a shame these guys are so wedded to the idea of PEARL JAM'S #1 NEW ALBUM as I'd very happily take a series of EPs, even single tracks, whenever they felt like rolling them out. I'm sure the modest method of its release was one of the factors that explains my fondness for Olé.

You know what recent Pearl Jam studio recording I really enjoy?

Their cover of Better Things.

Recorded at Studio Litho, mixed by Brett Eliason.

Can we start a Jamily petition to rid the PJ camp of BO'B?

It was, but I believe the majority of the recording was still done at Henson in LA.

Brendan's talked previously about hating working in Seattle; one of the reasons he didn't produce the records between 2000 to 2006 was that the band were adamant about recording at home back then.

I think BOB said in an interview the songs were mixed there; recording was probably limited to overdubs or a base track to a song that ended up on the record.

I had an idea last night. PJ are usually a record ahead of themselves in that a lot of ideas turn up on the one after the current one. They should really try do an EP after each record. This would clear out the cobwebs and keep everyone on their toes and hopefully prevent sore thumb songs appearing on records(meaning sings that were clearly written at a different point and have too different a style)

It'll never happen but I can see them making a shift away from BOB on the next one. Or at least I hope so

Pj are a far better band now than they used to be. Live at least.
You're clearly irrational right now, dime.*

You're not thinking straight.

(* More than usual.)
Cos you don't agree? No surprise there.
No, both me and a pal thought both shows looked really forced. Ed clearly doesn't wanna be there in either case, there's no communication between the group while playing and it's got no flow. They just look angry. Not a Pj experience I'd like to have seen.
