Are they just going to go up on stage and start playing and have people try to recognize who's playing drums? Or if it's someone unknown, maybe a "Hey everybody, this is Gary. ONE two three FOUR two three"

I'm not convinced.

I might be wrong, of course, but I still expect they'll play at The Showbox (or wherever) as "Stoney's Warriors" or "Jam Buds" or something in the week before.
