Honestly it would be about 10 times better if they leaned more into this.

This is very true, I think. It wouldn't have magically made all the jokes funny, but it would have helped with the overall enjoyment, I'm sure.

Mrs Wease is wanting us to watch this tonight. She’s hoping She-Ra is in it. We had a few of the toys as kids, but I never watched the cartoon. It was syndicated on cable and we didn’t have it. This movie looks like a live version of the cartoon and I’m afraid there are going to be many callbacks to the cartoon that will simply play flat with me having never seen it.

She Ra is in the post credits, but its just a second. I think you will be fine, all the callbacks to the cartoon are basically jokes to make you feel stupid and old.
