Joe Barresi is mixing now! Terry Date produced it.
Cornell is credited as a writer on all eight songs which are expected to appear on SOUNDGARDEN's upcoming album, receiving sole credit on two, "Cancer" and "Stone Age Mind". He wrote "Road Less Traveled", "Orphans" and "At Ophians Door" with Cameron; "Ahead Of The Dog" with Thayil; and "Merrmas" with Shepherd.
And with Kim mentioning the song 'X-Mas' in his book we now know all of the 8 songs on the new album!

Just finished ELOT. Way more and way better than I expected. My main takeaways:

A) disappointed some of the older guard didn’t like Alice In Chains and thought they were posers
B) Courtney Love deserves every bit of bad press or bad feelings towards her she’s ever had. She’s a much worse person than I ever knew.
C) didn’t realize the Screaming Trees had been around that long
D) didn’t recognize Candlebox and never knew they were considered to be part of the Seattle grunge scene. I had to look them up on YouTube and recognized the songs as tunes I never really cared about but didn’t know who did them and didn’t really care.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

Its kinda weird they talk with the Candlebox guys so much in that book, but its also a good pov from one of those bands that got carried away with the grunge hype i guess. Of course they were doing it themselves too.

Screaming Trees were a unit for a long time yeah...they split in what the 2000s?

If I remember right the charge was the Candlebox guys moved back to Seattle from L.A. when grunge broke to get a deal. Not sure if true but that was the word when they were popular. AIC started as a glam band so the old heads probably couldn't let that go. It's funny when I was a kid I thought there was massive gulfs between alt rock and hair metal and classic rock and punk but now its just sounds like rock n roll to me.

Also; Storm is such a wild beast. Cameron rules in the outtro. I kinda love how the music does seems like something the band would write in the 80s

Kind of a shame it didn't make Badmotorfinger but I guess as a beloved non-album track it gets its own spotlight.

Seems like we'll need to wait for the next next record for those.

I'd be perfectly content with a new album from Kim, Ben and Matt - no need for guest vocalists, Ben and Matt are more than enough.

gave DOTU a spin yesterday. so many great songs on there, such a span of sounds. wonder if any of the new SG tracks will have some acoustic guitar blends like a few of those tracks on DOTU
