Loved it but it felt too long. More melancholy than action which was just fine by me. Sadie Sink was great.

I kept thinking they were forecasting Jean's sister being Rogue because of the color of and focus on her scrunchie which obviously would have made sero sense.

Punisher is the hospital scenes. He’s one of the most notorious killers in the country. He has a hidden boat hideout so the authorities can’t find him. Yet, he can sit there in the waiting room and then hang out in Pete’s actual room for days? That makes no sense at all.

It's hilarious that the bullshit climax to this just-okay movie is the exact same bullshit climax as the equally just-okay Thunderbolts

to be fair, its a pretty common climax to a lot of comics. But yeah, just a setup for a character they will use in the future.

I've never had any real passion for this franchise for some reason. I didn't see the Amazing Spider-Mans and I think I missed the second one in this iteration. Not that I hate them or anything, I just don't get the mass obsession.

I'll probably watch it next week.

While Spider Man was always huge in the comics, i feel these days its more a generational thing, kids really love him. There are also different stuff for them, like comics books or animated series with him and Gwen so i guess that could be a reason.

But the movie making all that money in three days is impressive really.

Thinking about this movie through my own experience, it’s really a death of love and what Peter does to move on/not move on from it. I’ve thought a lot about what happens when a person loses their memories if what we consider a soul continues on with a blank slate or if it’s the birth of a new consciousness. MJ, who Peter considered his future is not the same person without her memories of him and she tells him as much. Even before that he’s burying himself in his work and trying to help others instead of just coming to terms with what happened.

Magic spells in comic books aside, in real life you don’t get the magic moment that fixes everything where an embedded memory brings the person you care about back. My person died unexpectedly and are not coming back, but I unfortunately identify with Peter trying to ignore through other purpose and it often manifests itself into panic attacks if I don’t take the time to spend quality time with my people
