After watching the full Drumeo interview I'd say I'm fully on team Dave K. now. I'm guessing the band wants someone who can go whatever distance is left and his style of drumming and overall finesse will be a huge asset to that end—gotta save those wrists. He'll be obviously be great on all of the early stuff as we saw when he filled in during the '22 shows and will also handle the Jack era songs with aplomb. The hard hitting Dave A. and Matt tunes (especially Matt's more eccentric/off-kilter stuff) might be an issue but I'm sure he can work through that. It's an impossible request to find a single drummer that can perfectly match all these different drum techniques—we'll get used to how different some songs sound like we did when Matt came in. He comes off as a super chill and thoughtful guy as well and that's probably as important as anything for the band at this point. There's also something that's poetic and even sweet about the original PJ drummer coming back to close things out.

In a IG-comment Dave K already said it will not be him and that they had already picked a new drummer. It would have been interesting, but I do think he would really struggle most of the Dave A or Matt stuff. He's a pocket player, a soft hitter. Can you imagine Dave K playing Go?

He would have been perfect if PJ is ready to retire all those harder tracks and just become the slow or midtempo band they are just great at.

My guess is most of the songs written by Matt are retired. I don’t see them playing stuff like Evacuation, Johnny Guitar or In the Moonlight again. Maybe they throw us a Fixer a few more times.
If they had any decency, Go and Angel would’ve been retired the day they fired Dave A.

I know Krusen said he’s not the one but it really doesn’t make sense to do a reveal at Ohana unless it’s him.

I haven't watched any videos anyone has posted here of Dave K. All I know is I saw him play PJ songs live and he was awesome. But I guess I'm an idiot and a nonsensical dipshit!
