Re: Sirens
Always find myself really enjoying the drums in what I think is the pre-chorus and the first half of the chorus. And then Ed's singing of "I study your face."

Re: Sirens
Yeah Matt does a fairly decent job of this. No real complaints about his playing in this one.Leatherhead wrote:Always find myself really enjoying the drums in what I think is the pre-chorus and the first half of the chorus.

Re: Sirens
Matt was one of the first things I liked about this song. He's great in the pre-chorus. That part's groovy, with the sixteenth-notes on the hi-hat and the bass drum and snare marking out the accents. Then he opens the hi-hat for the chorus, and then starts smashing the crash cymbal for the other chorus.
This song made me realise something about BoB's mixing of the drums though; he always turns the cymbals down to ridiculously low levels.

Re: Sirens
That was one of my main points for the drum tour. No room and minimal cymbals. I love cymbals (see Dave A)harmless wrote:Matt was one of the first things I liked about this song. When you're lyin' here in my arms

Hear the sirens.

Re: Sirens
I thought I liked this track, but skip it everytime, even when I am the bowl taking a dump. I did prefer it live, maybe it will grow on me, like a corn.

Re: Sirens
'sfunny, but to me talk of Sirens and taking a dump and little bits of corn just seems all together kinda natural, y'know?lowlight79 wrote:I thought I liked this track, but skip it everytime, even when I am the bowl taking a dump. I did prefer it live, maybe it will grow on me, like a corn.
