Great book. Seeing the leg amputation sequence from the miniseries as a kid left me completely terrified that I would catch gangrene in the event of an Indian attack

I'm fascinated by Gus's ability to keep a sourdough starter for ten years in the South Texas heat and dust. In that climate, he'd have to be pretty disciplined. I bet that fermentation speed is a beast.

Finished All the Pretty Horses by McCarthy and just started The Sound of Waves by Mishima.

Finished the trilogy of Bond books done by Anthony Horowitz and liked them all, favorite was the third one. Kinda wish the new Bond would be a time period piece.

Now gonna check out Dungeon Crawler Carl and see what the hype is about.

Finished the trilogy of Bond books done by Anthony Horowitz and liked them all, favorite was the third one. Kinda wish the new Bond would be a time period piece.

Now gonna check out Dungeon Crawler Carl and see what the hype is about.

Absolutely. One of those books that I will definitely read again at some point. Last one I felt the same was The Buried Giant by Ishiguro.

I think I'm gonna have to check it out, too. It sounds absolutely awful.

I read the first Dungeon Crawler Carl. I heard the first half is pretty bad, but once you get passed all the gamey exposition crap, it gets better. And I have to say I mostly agree? Not my cup of tea, but I get the appeal. It will probably be a huge movie/TV series soon. There are some pretty inventive moments, and I like the tonal mishmash.
