...and you can listen to 5 songs for the last time in this life before passing. What are they?

Re: You're dying...
Exactly. Like those goofy metal pieces that barely classify as songs and go for a few hours each. Five of those.

ok. by "dying", i don't mean you will die within the length of 5 songs... but your last 5 songs you want to hear before exiting this world.

I think "5 songs desert island go" would work a bit better.

Meh, I don't like the desert island thing, bc then you think, "Oh man, only 5 songs I can listen to forever, I'm gonna hate them all after a while"... this way, you just get one last listen.Soma. wrote:I think "5 songs desert island go" would work a bit better.

Re: You're dying...
Alright I'll play ball.
The Beatles - Within You Without You
Ween - The Argus
The Cure - Plainsong
Smashing Pumpkins - Soma
Nine Inch Nails - A Warm Place, shuffling off as it finishes.
I could live with that.

Depends on how i'm dying. Hopefully Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory will be perfect for the occasion.
edit: no, lets face it. any occasion is perfect for Blaze of Glory.

Re: You're dying...
In reality, I'd probably spend the remainder of my life agonizing over which songs to pick. But just off the top of my head, here are five songs:
Billie Holiday- "I Cover the Waterfront"
Chopin's Nocturne op.9 no.2
Velvet Underground- "Pale Blue Eyes"
Rachmaninoff's piano concerto no. 2 - the whole concerto if I'm allowed. If not, just the adagio sostenuto.
Elvis Costello- "Days" (Kinks cover)-- I'd be okay with this being the last one. "Thank you for the days", exploding into a wash of guitar distortion.

Days is my choice of funeral song. I'll probably end up getting the Circle of Life from the Lion King though.theplatypus wrote:In reality, I'd probably spend the remainder of my life agonizing over which songs to pick. But just off the top of my head, here are five songs:

I'll probably request Mambo #5 at my funeral. But that's a different thread altogether.

Blackbird (The Beatles) - I sing this to my kids
I'll Fly Away (Hymn) - played at the funerals of my grandfather and grandmother
The Tracks of My Tears (Smokey Robinson) - my mom's favorite song
Just Like Heaven (The Cure) - the wife and I dance to this
Dirt in the Ground (Tom Waits) - my siblings thwarted my efforts to play this at my dad's funeral
