Both Krusen and Irons confirmed it's not them. Dave A just got back from exile but is playing with some blues guy, will never be him. Starkey just rejoined the Who. Freese is somewhat in NIN, allthought he is always a free agent. Matt Chamberlain is elsewhere on the Ohana date.Barret Martin is touring elsewhere too. Stuverrud would be cool, but he's not super fit. He's a semi pro who's teaching drums in Oakland. There are some guys available in LA: Brad Wilk and Stephen Perkins. ANd probably some in Wotman's network they could have called.

John Wicks also has the Ament connection (Deaf Charlie) and is AT Ohana playing with Jeff in PEST. With 37 he is way younger than the guys. Somehow most of us didnt think of him, but he's at Ohana....

Stuverud is out IMO because when Jeff was asked recently about the drummer at Ohana he seemed kind of dismissive about the whole thing and whether the guy they'd chosen would even be on the stool for the long-term - I'm pretty sure he'd be stoked and more enthusiastic if his mate Richard had been selected. The two leading candidates for me now are Perkins and Abe.

The only reason he's on Earthling with one song, is because he was Elton John drummer on his record. The other record done by Andrew Watt at the same time. And I have a feelng EV and EJ switched songs last minute. Since the E-ticket song on EJ's record has Eddie's band.

Worth mentioning, he also played drums on a whole Earthlings show in 2023.

Macca can't tour forever and has nothing on his schedule right now, it's not out of the question he'd be looking for a new long-term gig.

i love Brad Wilk but he does not suit PJ's style at all. it sounded like when he auditioned with them way back when, the reason it didn't move forward was described (respectfully) as he just didn't gel with jeff musically.
