Your beef then, sir, is with Andy Wallace... and of course Peter Denenberg, but the Spin Doctors were co-producers of every album they released, so I guess it also comes back to Comess.

I don't hear that sound in Abe's kit though. It sounds like's tuned medium high... fat like Jack's snare was/is.

And I agree, we should lock this thread until the night of Ohana let loose the dogs of snare.

I love how everyone has just taken sources as truth here, or alternately wonders whether they’ve considered aspects of the player’s drumming - I know they make haphazard decisions about a lot of arrangements, but one would think they’d cross the i’s and dot the t’s on this one (deliberate choice).

I guess Boom and Josh K. might be disproving my point but I have some faith in such an important piece.

Boom was a bad choice. They could have just brought in any session guy. Josh K. is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist with chops, but also a murderer.

I hope they'll have learned their lessons on the dummer bit.

Ed wrote it in a room with Boom playing, Ed did him a solid and threw him a credit. They literally have to write out the chords for each song where he plays, and his solos on Crazy Mary are just standard hammond dreck.
