Not your typical movie from that goon.

Hice reserva en el Gran Hotel Continental, pero cancelé porque surgió la oportunidad de quedarme en el depto de un amigo. Igual lo recomiendo, está bueno.

Watched Dredd last night - was somewhat disappointed. Shouldn't have watched The Raid a few weeks earlier - as it just seemed like an extremely neutered version of that, plus Karl Urban's pout just started to piss me off...

Before Midnight.
What a beautiful and honest movie about love. This is what i feel love is in a long time relationship.
Delpy and Hawke are great, as usual.

"28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later" are highly entertaining zombie/infected apocalypse flicks. I may have to revisit them soon.
Francis Begbie's sprint for the boat is such an intense opening scene. One hell of an underrated actor, that. Speaking of, did anyone take a liking to "Stargate: Universe"? One of the worst premature show cancellations in the history of television, in my opinion.

The "Carrie" remake. With that cast and the added poignancy of modern real-life internet bullying tragedies, they had every opportunity to make it into a powerful (or, at the very least, visceral) movie, and they totally dropped the ball. Very bland and characterless the whole way through. Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore were both excellent though.

Re: What Movies are you watching?
I like it. Some really great emotional resonance. Beautiful pictures. Haunting and romantic. I was smiling from ear to ear for the first half hour. But it does get a bit repetitive and it loses the thread a bit as it unwinds. I got a bit tired of Affleck, who was one dimensional. But I loved the themes of forgiveness and faith. Both of which are not really ideas I look for in films, as they're so shop worn at this point. But Malick handles them brilliantly.
I'm glad there isn't more of a straight forward plot, and appreciate the sparse dialogue, but I do wish it wasn't so somber and repetitive. It could probably have been about ten/fifteen minutes shorter.
But, yeah, solid movie. I love Malick.

Re: What Movies are you watching?
I guess its irrational to ask for someone's thoughts on a film while they're in the process of watching it. This thread has a poorly worded title, if anything. It could have easily been "What Movies Have You Watched Recently?"

"The World's End". The plot was average, the one liners were below average, the attempt at sentimentality fell flat, but the action sequences were a lot of fun. Total popcorn flick. 6.75/10
