They released an album (Electric Cattle Gods - The Lost Tracks) last year of unreleased stuff from around the first album and it surprisingly good. It really should have been the second album. 1996 me would have loved it. They messed up.

i have seen them probably 8 or 9 times after their hayday. I first saw them under a bridge as a closer for a local rock show (2008). front row singing along to all their songs. this pic was for the closer, plowed (arguably my favorite song of the 90s)
after the show ended i saw some fans climb the stage and talk to the band so i did too.
the above pic i think i hit a nerve with this guy (Andy Patalan). after the goofy pic op, i thanked him and asked him how it felt to play live one of the greatest songs ever written. we chatted for about 10 minutes or so and he asked me to join him for a few drinks over in monaca, but i was tired and im a lightweight when it comes to drinking. plus its only a matter of time before id say something stupid, like, what do you think of mike scores hair in space age love song?
I have also seen them at both the Hard Rock Cafe and Crafthouse in Pittsburgh (above is crafthouse)
one of the better shows I saw was at a rib fest in Niles, Ohio. they did a cover of Sedated and vinny gave me a finger wag because I fucked up the next line
The second album no matter what it would be was doomed after following up Rotting Pinata (I definitely consider it a no-skip album). Though it does have some hidden gems on it (my purity, my baby said, drag queens of memphis and got to be a bore) besides Wax Ecstatic and Have You Seen Mary?
New Pop Sunday has Live Here Without You, 1000 times, Radio Prayer Line (those two are my fave on there) as sell as New Pop Sunday and Lucky.
to see them in concert once you have probably seen them 10 times. the set lists rarely change except for some covers. however they are a fun band to see live and they take the time after the show to sit there and talk to all their fans
the bassist in between songs stopped and started laughing at my shirt and asked to use my phone to take a pic. after the show he texted me so i could send it to him. he said his son is a huge star wars fan and of poop jokes.
once i texted him i deleted the the contact so i wouldnt even have the slightest temptation to random text him
