I’ve picked up a pop rivet gun anyway. We’ll see what I can get done tonight, otherwise gate guy is coming tomorrow morning so I’ll need to be around anyway.

We've only been in our new house just under two weeks. We've done a lot of yard work so far, but so much more to come. I was outside straightening up the mailbox post, and some old lady stopped and said she was friends with the previous owner before he had to sell it for upkeep reasons. She then said that this one big bush we took out was one that we shouldn't have, and started naming other things around the yard that she liked. In a kind voice I just said "well, the outside of the house will be changing quite a bit over the next couple of months. We're taking some trees down this week". She looked worried about which ones, but before she could ask i just said it was really hot out and need to get back inside.

When we moved into our new home last month, I vowed to work on the little things that needed to be done right away instead of always walking by and thinking "I should get to that soon". It has been worth it. I've handymanned the shit out of this place so far. So many things on the list already done, but my biggest achievement was running a hole through the laundry room wall to the garage for the car charger cord, and making it look like it was meant to be that way.
