You can tell the band is taking a great deal of care with their current work and their legacy, as they should.

yeah at first her voice was an adjustment. i wasn't crazy about outshined that said i kind of am not crazy about outshined anyways. but spoonman found its dark groove. the quality of the instrumental backing was high. their later era tours i thought were even better bc they are more professional now. so if you really don't like momsen then just try to focus in on Matt, Kim, Ben, (and now Mike). It gets the job done. but i think Momsen's delivery in Spoonman was good and interested to see how she approaches some of these. i feel like Kim and Ben live for this and Chris dying cut short something powerful that was building. Would be great for them to tap back into that trajectory again on a tour and see where some of this goes.

There is a hint of that but whatever makes the band happy. I'd see multiple dates if they toured.

taylor momsen sings the spoonman phrasing how Chris does live which i thought was cool. although i thought Chris changed it only to be able to play the guitar part at the same time.

ben looks like he's not going to allow this iteration to gain too much momentum.

FWIW, I think the rest of the band sounds great; the singer and the clothes/setting are tough to see through.

More diplomatically, I’m skeptical Mike can pull off some of the deeper cuts and weirder tunings that Chris used to carry. Like I don’t think it’s technically beyond his reach, but he’s done very little with alternate tunings, and I’m not sure he can totally shake his pentatonic blues tendencies.
