Re: Sirens
Oh, it's fine. About the same as last week, really...almost no change whatsoever.
It's probably due to start slowing down on Triple A, and a long ballad like that will never be top 5 rock radio material, so it needs to show some real legs this week on Hot AC. That's still the spot where its fate will ultimately be decided...and so far nothing there has been suggestive of how that is going to go either way.
It will pass Life Wasted's total plays this week and, even if it starts to give up the game in the next few days, I imagine it'll still get fairly close to WWS before the end. If it shows some bite at Hot AC, then there's no telling how it'll do. Outside of radio, it's been relatively strong for downloads and streaming, but that's slowed a lot in recent weeks.
Mind Your Manners is still going at Alt and Mainstream Rock, by the way.

27,132, which puts it at #11. US totals for the first three weeks are 238,000, which makes it about the 90th best selling album of the year so far.
Worldwide totals for the first two weeks are estimated at 387,000...third week information isn't up yet.

Ahh, that's like getting mad at Grandpa for thinking you're 11 on your 18th birthday.

thats no laughing matter if your birthday present is a dollar amount that matches your age, that could be a loss of 7 dollarsMcParadigm wrote:Ahh, that's like getting mad at Grandpa for thinking you're 11 on your 18th birthday.

Re: Sirens
Well, I guess this does kinda sound like Pink Floyd.
I played the song on the way to the Baltimore show for a friend I took to the show, who isn't that into PJ. During the song, he said "sounds like Floyd man".
I asked him to clarify, b/c I was like "it doesn't sound like Piper or their 70's stuff", and he said, "oh, I meant like late 80's / Gillmore Floyd".

The version that is being played at the very start of the lightning bolt movie sounded way cooler. Slower.
I think it was Sirens.

I don't hate it. It sits close to my heart because of the time I heard it. But man, this could've been a great slow burn.

Re: Sirens
Same. I like the version we got. But the EPK version sounded like a great low-key rainy-day song.

Re: Sirens
I don't listen to radio - but I have been checking in with the "new rock" station here in the San Luis Obispo area - since they pretty closely follow what KROQ in LA plays.
Well, Sirens finally came on yesterday - just about 4:05 PM - I caught it at the beginning of the second verse, and it sounded great. That station tends to play songs into the ground... if this thing has wings, I expect they will play the shit out of it over the next month.
