Re: Daily Song Ranker poll
Good suggestion - I can just do that by editing the subject I assume? Do I have to go back and do that on the original post or just each time I post a reply?
Since I've got these polls out in a couple different places, I was thinking I'll start compiling stats after a week or so for each one. Gives people plenty of time to vote. I'll post results here then. All that needs to be done manually, so it could be pretty tedious. But I'm all for doing it....

That whole show is incredible. I don't remember Deep standing out, though. I 've had my periods where I really enjoyed the song, but ultimately, for me, it just doesn't stand out and kinda just settles at the bottom on this album. Same thing with DissidentLeatherhead wrote:I heard the Atlanta '94 show for the first time about 2 years ago or so, and it vaulted Deep close to the top.hlniv wrote:1. Porch (Ten, 1991)

5. Alive (Ten, 1991)
6. Jeremy (Ten, 1991)
7. Even Flow (Ten, 1991)
8. Oceans (Ten, 1991)
9. Garden (Ten, 1991)
10. Why Go (Ten, 1991)
11. Deep (Ten, 1991)
When I did the full ranking of all the songs, I was very surprised at how high i put the TEN songs compared to the rest of the catalog. It's easy to forget how great this album is. Deep is the only song I would rate below "great" on the whole thing. And the top three for me are all time top 10 songs, any artist.

Man, I love Deep.
I'm pretty happy that one's returned to setlists over the last few years. It's one older song I think Matt's style really suits, even more than Dave.
Heavy Pearl Jam. I dig it.

come to think of it, I don't think I've listened to a "newer" version of Deep aside from the Spectrum abomination

as a young buck learning guitar Deep was the only one on ten i could not play at all. I've always thought of it as one of the more interesting guitar songs in the PJ catalog. It's top 25 for me.

Once (Ten, 1991)
Deep (Ten, 1991)
Even Flow (Ten, 1991)
This list seems harsh, as there really isn't a dud track on here. I'd say Black through to Oceans on that list are just insanely good songs. Untouchable stuff.
Once & Deep are great but lack the special something that the rest have.
And am I the only one who finds Even Flow a little...erm...dull?!?! Compared to the rest of the record anyway...
Hmm.

At 2.50 we get some old skool eddie growls
Nothing beats the insanely heavy 93/94 ones though.

This is a really good performance of Deep, especially considering the year (2011).stupidmop wrote:I love me some deep.MattA75 wrote:was never a big fan of Deep, but when they pulled it out on the '03 tour, it fucking rocked my face offBirds in Hell wrote:Man, I love Deep.
