I concur Stip. I listened to ST the other day and I found that I don't mind Come Back if I don't pay attention to it. As soon as I focus on the song, all the production choices anger me.stip wrote:S/T would stand up to just about anything in the catalog outside of Ten and Vitalogy if I only had to include half the record.

they do make sense if you listen to S/T following Riot Act. I'm not saying they are GOOD choices, but they are more intelligible.

I like this song much better than any of the EV "solo" stuff on Backspacer or LB. (Just Breathe, The End, Future Days).

Re: Song of the moment: Come Back
It's not the rock sound of the album or the brickwalling of the mix/mastering. It's the clear distortion on the guitars at the beginning of MITS. It's the harsh drum tone on Come Back. There's no subtlety there. And as has been commented once or twice the back half let's the album down and the couple of good tracks struggle for air.
But even with all of the above this album is about #6 for me.
And I agree Ruddo. It's a nice track that needed some cotton wool treatment.
