Sitting Behind the Stage

Post by CopperTom »

I'm thinking about buying a lower level behind the stage ticket and am seeking feedback. I've read some great things about these seats at a PJ show. I read you experience the energy of the arena better.

I had behind the stage at U2 ten years ago and didn't like it. But they have so much more bullshit going on - light and stage wise.

From what I've seen, behind the stage seats at PJ shows can be pretty damn good, and certainly much better than at other shows I've seen. Ed and Mike always make a point of playing to that section.

I saw Philly 2 behind the stage. First time doing so. I posted pics in the Live section in that thread. They might give you an idea of what it was like. If its a great energetic crowd you're gonna have a blast. If not, then it might be boring. Plus, they have two hanging screens facing the crowd. You can see them clearly from behind the stage, the picture is just reversed. And you get to see all the techs keep the show running if that's of any interest to you. The only downside? The possibility of Last Kiss.
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

Plus you can participate in the inevitably forthcoming "Rank the Cabooses" thread.

I pulled the trigger. I'll be behind the stage for Seattle! At the very least it will be a memorable vantage point. It has to beat having the last row on the floor (which I had once).

Will - I just realized that you also took those pics in the Baltimore thread. What kind of camera (or phone) do you use?

"I like it from behind" Love it. It's going to be the motto of my trip. But I won't say it out loud for fear of being raped.

:haha:
It will be pretty cool to see the band's perspective of the crowd. Have fun!
I hate to say I love you,
But oh goddamn I love you,
You know I do.

Its a Nikon Coolpix S8200. Its got 14x optical zoom, ISO is set to 800 (sometimes 1600) and I used the continuous burst/sports action mode to help capture shots of them moving around. Not flawless, but good for a general point and shoot. Enjoy Seattle!

It also should be noted that I increased the contrast a small amount to each photo, and that I also took a whole lot of shots to get a handful of good ones.
I might be able to get to an E-bow.

I was bit by the PJ bug. I had to see 1 more show. Last show of tour and in Seattle and the fact that there's only 1 Seattle show. This has to be golden, right?

I was behind the stage MSG 2008..not a big fan, but that might have been due to the acoustics of the arena itself (MSG=slightly overrated).

Although it was fun watching Eddie take cigarette breaks during the evenflow solo out of sight from the front of the stage.

My first show ever, Uniondale 03 was behind the stage. It was fine, but I wouldn't necessarily do it again.
