Ran my 10-miler the last 3 mornings. It was in the low 40s this morning, so I wore my running tights and jacket for the first time. I looked ridiculous in the tights and they squished my boy parts too much.

65, 67, 66 minutes

I'm also now on strict diet in an attempt to regain my single-digit body fat percentage.

I have a later shift today. I got to sleep in a little bit and then I hit the gym for a quick workout before coming in. No cardio, only about 45 minutes of weights. Different crowd in the morning, much more of a housewife crowd. Not really cougar-y MILFs either though there were a couple. I like going in the morning but it's not the same to come in and sit at my desk after going to the gym. I can feel my muscles tighten up.

Ive kind of been drinking a lot lately. Not getting drunk but having 2-3 beers every night. I dont like that. Something about it being the "off-season" here makes it a hot bed for being lazy. I still workout and go to yoga 4-5 times a week but the alcohol thing is not helping things.

Halfway through my third week of going hard. Pretty much 2+ hours a day of a combination of biking, hikng, weights and/or swimming. Shit is killing but making me feel good at the same time. Will try to maintain this pace to end of November and then settle into something more along the line of 90 mins a day. Fingers crossed I can be near 190 by the end of the month.

Also trying to cut out all prepackaged food except for beer and wine. That's makes a pretty big difference. T2B is even motivating me to cut back on the booze. Going to see if I can keep it under 10 beers this weekend.

The only thing I'm finding unmotivating is that my rides take 10%+ longer due to the cold weather (sometimes my legs never warm up), darkness and wet roads.

T2B - How bored do you get on your canal runs? Beautiful scenery the first few times but looks a little flat for you.

I would love to run more trails, but an hour of commute time (30 minutes to the trailheads each way) adds 4 or 5 hours a week to the time I spend away from my family. Also, my 24-hour race is on a flat 1-mile loop, so I don't really need any hill work for it.

That being said, I'm doing a pretty nasty trail this weekend with lots of elevation change that is sure to have me caked in dirt, blood and shit. :hooray:

Tweaked my back coming down the stairs at work yesterday. I can barely walk right now. Gonna be fucking pissed if this knocks me out of my race. Leaping over boulders and traversing 300-foot rock faces I'm OK, but apparently navigating a flight of stairs is too much for me to handle. :?

I have a chiro appointment tomorrow.

Meant to hit the gym last night but an impromtu family dinner voided those plans. It was for my mom's birthday so it wasn't something I could shrug off and not hear about it. I got to play with one of my nieces and she likes to be picked up & twirled around & climb on me (she's 3) so I at least got some physical activity in.
Also listening to my parents, aunts & uncles talk politics is always interesting. They're all in their 60s/70s now and regular Fox News viewers. Yeah, I just listen and keep my mouth shut.

Back is still fucked. Chiro was pretty useless because the muscles in my lower back are the problem and that takes time to settle down. I don't care how much pain I'm in, I'll be running tomorrow. Fuck pain.

Last night took a good wipe out biking home. Pretty heavy rain, mud was deep, roots were treacherous, was really glad I had made it down the trail without a wipeout. Then 30 feet from where the trail kick out of the woods, not paying attention, caught my tire on a root and just the way the wipe out caught me off guard I didn't tuck and roll and face hit first. One one those where you come up running your tongue across your teeth checking for damage. Between that and being passed on the trail by kids half my age, who were riding like I used to even 10 years ago just left me pretty humble rolling into my place. Been a while since I've had to do a tooth check.

Couldn't even imagine doing this at 90. 90 is for sitting on my porch, sipping Jack, playing acoustic blues and listening to my grandkids stories.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Good workout this morning, my first since Wednesday morning. My back was a little stiff but once I got going it was fine. Did a 1.35 miles on the treadmill after weights. I've noticed my appetite is coming back with the cooling weather so it's important to keep the regular gym schedule going.
Now to finish off leftover chicken from last night & figure out what to do this afternoon.

10 miles in 68 minutes

I ran today. Made my back worse. Took a Vicodin and broke my no alcohol promise.

10 miles in 68 minutes + stadium steps

Back felt better today. Left for the canal late in the day and took it easy. It was 80+ and I stopped at every water fountain along the way. Most days I don't stop at all. Even split with a dinky finishing kick. When I got home, I felt guilty about only doing 10 miles, so I hit the high school for some stadium stairs. 30 full minutes without a fucking break. Staggered home in dark totally wiped out.

My back can suck my dick.
