Re: Eddie's anti gun rant during the the Mark Richards inter
I'm not sure how you guys feel about gun control but I come from a city that is home to one of the worst gun massacres of all time. This event was key to the onset of gun control in Australia, and since then it's been an absolute no-brainer issue. I kinda feel as though if America were able to enforce bans on a state-wide level maybe it'd be more effective. The problem for you guys, it seems, is that the country is just too fucking big, and there's too many people with their hands in the pot in places making decisions that affect places they've probably never even been to. Either way, I'm anti-gun. I think it's fucking ridiculous that anybody would need a gun for self-defence. As far as what Eddie said, I don't really care that much. I know it was a dumb thing to say in an interview he knew would be seen by shitloads of people, but it doesn't really surprise me. I don't think there's really any weight behind it, it was just a faux-pas.

What I dont understand is why is no news outlet or supposed expert is talking about mental health....this is not about guns as much as its about people who are disturbed and need help. There is a golden opportunity here to talk about mental health, but instead we talk about guns. We talk about guns because it involves lots of lobbying money and click throughs and doesnt move the discussion at all. These shootings are about angry, lost people who are lashing out. We need to treat the cause of the disease and not just the symptoms.

Those Daily Show bits were brilliant!
and the Daily Show themselves could lend Ed/PJ a hand on this one...
Fox News is shocked at what Ed said, and causing all this trouble because hes gone too far, they said the same crap during Riot Act, and if any of them ever heard that rant he did about the first Bush back in 92, "i dont support murder but if i did hes one id seriously think about" or something along those lines...
the ironic part about it, and to show how F'ing stupid Fox News is (this may have been mentioned in the 17 pages or maybe not) Fox News, has had fucking Ted Nugent on to talk politics, the guy who shoots flaming arrows at pictures of President Obama on stage.
anyone who thinks Ed needs to shut up, and keep the politics/social issues out of the music, just needs to move on. Politics/social issues has been in music since the birth of Rock n Roll.
If you ask me, Ed didnt go far enough. AMERICA NEEDS NEW GUN LAWS PERIOD

Ed could be saying the grossest, most morally-reprehensible thing ever, and we would never know unless it was recorded by the media. He might be saying it now.

what gets me is that so called people in power think that america is going to turn into a police state or a socialist country with gun reform and or healthcare reform. you guys have had so many mass shootings that i cant believe people are still talking about this.

People in power don't think that. They think the people who think that will vote them out if they vote for gun or healthcare reform. And if they get voted out, who will pay them to fuck off in a swanky office?onawave wrote:what gets me is that so called people in power think that america is going to turn into a police state or a socialist country with gun reform and or healthcare reform.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: Eddie's anti gun rant during the the Mark Richards inter
I think when he said he enjoyed girls taking a dump on his head during the flashing her breasts rant was far worse........and even that shouldn't have been made into anything. Obviously he hates the bad things that come from the lack of responsibility and guns (in some situations). For him to say he almost wishes something bad is simply saying that it might take something bad to happen to some people to wake them up.
