In case you guys were wondering if the person who sold the $400 set has a Facebook...she does and they found her over on the sheep board. I can't even imagine the messages she is getting. :shake:

I bought this because I love vinyl, I love the art, and I love most of the album.

What would have made this perfect would have been demos or alternative cuts of album song and a b-side.

Or just all demos/alternate takes.

This is what most fans are thinking.

I was out enjoying the weather and didn't come inside to blog about it until it was sold out. :(

It's not that hard.
Are you against it because

A: it is a stupid product

B: because 10c will profit from it

C: because owning this might give someone a small, quiet bit of pleasure

Please assign each answer 1-5 stars in terms of its personal applicability
That nobody in the Pearl Jam organisation thought to say "that's a really dumb idea" seems, to me, indicative of a greater malaise. Does anyone there actually like music, follow bands, buy records? It seems hard to believe.

I'm unimpressed mainly by the cynicism I see behind the mountains of merchandise junk Pearl Jam releases; the KISS comparisons really aren't that absurd. As you said, the attitude seems to be "if these morons are dumb enough to buy it, we'd be stupid not to sell it!" If there was something, anything, to suggest there was some kind of motivation behind this release greater than "people will buy it", I'd be more understanding.

Music really means something to me. When the band treats their own record like something that can be arbitrarily cut up, repackaged and resold at a premium, it creates the impression that it doesn't mean that much to them.
:nice:

The world is somehow even bleaker because of this.
