Call me crazy but I kinda like the divisional thing. Makes for a more interesting grab bag of teams and gives a little boost to teams who are able to beat their rivals consistently.

Central time zone or mountain time zone is the best for sports.

I can live with a division champ getting an automatic berth as long as they had a winning record. But automatically awarding them a home playoff game with a bar as low as beating up on weak rivals is too much.Orpheus wrote:Call me crazy but I kinda like the divisional thing. That you can take out a punter as long as you hit the ball first.

Football in general has too many rules. I like this rule. If you couldn't touch the punter it would be extremely rare to block a punt with the amount of time and angle you are coming from.Mecca wrote:That you can take out a punter as long as you hit the ball first.

Who was it on the west coast complaining about the early start times?
Sports must be so cool on the west coast, especially football sundays. Game at 10, game at 1, stop for dinner, another game at 6, and still time to watch something else? Awesome.

I don't think punters should get lit up, but you shouldn't be penalized for missing a ball by an inch and touching the punter when you can light him up if you get a piece of the ball.Monkey_Driven wrote:Football in general has too many rules. Re: Stupid Rules In Sports
It's pretty insane that I had to stay up until 1am for a month so I could watch my east coast team play other east coast and central time zone teams. All so 3 states that dont care wont have to miss the first 2 innings.@SkitchP wrote:Who was it on the west coast complaining about the early start times?

I see you point. I generally dislike the roughing the punter in general. The players are not targeting the punter at all. They're going for the ball.Mecca wrote:I don't think punters should get lit up, but you shouldn't be penalized for missing a ball by an inch and touching the punter when you can light him up if you get a piece of the ball.Monkey_Driven wrote:Football in general has too many rules. Try being the only eastern time zone team of consequence in an entire conference.

How is "defender blocking the bath of a baserunner" a 'stupid" rule?

It's a perfectly cromulent rule. It was a shitty situation but there's no other way to do it.
