So it sounds like that Ross has a ton of support for Philbin but none for Ireland. If Incognito was given orders from above to bully, it looks pretty clear as to whom gave them.

this game is horseshit
it clearly shows that they were unable to be prepared/practice because of the horseshit espn media circus
the reporters basically bullied the team all week and every single one of them should lose their jobs

No. I'm trying to mentally prepare for the NFL overreacting and doing something insane like take away our 1st round pick....a pick that looks like it could be pretty good when this is all said and done.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:did they trade away their first round pick for next year?4/5 wrote:--- wrote:i really and truly feel bad for 4/5![]()

If that do that to the Dolphins, combined with what they did to the Saints for the bounties, then I'm going to be even more amazed that they didn't hammer the Broncos for the DUI sprees that they incurred over the past couple of years.4/5 wrote:No. I'm trying to mentally prepare for the NFL overreacting and doing something insane like take away our 1st round pick....a pick that looks like it could be pretty good when this is all said and done.

It's not really about fairness. It's about keeping people spending exorbitant amounts of money on the NFL. There hasn't been much press on the Broncos, and apparently everyone decided to be compliant with the Patriots after the NFL destroyed the evidence.
There is a lot of bullshit that goes on, they just try to keep the lid on and keep quiet about.

Re: the miami dolphins
I dunno, no one would have ever known about the Saints' bounties if the commissioner's office didn't blow the whistle out of the blue. Goodell definitely has a moralizing complex that's been common in a lot of his Boomer-aged counterparts in sports.Electromatic wrote:It's not really about fairness. I think your last sentence is dead on, though. Though, in slight fairness, it's probably no different than any other major company in the world.

Re: the miami dolphins
if they do take away a draft pick or somehting like that, it cant be more then what they took from the saints could it? i guess they could equally make the NFL look bad, but somehting happening on the field would have to be penalized worse then something happening off the field right?Green Habit wrote:If that do that to the Dolphins, combined with what they did to the Saints for the bounties, then I'm going to be even more amazed that they didn't hammer the Broncos for the DUI sprees that they incurred over the past couple of years.4/5 wrote:No. I'm trying to mentally prepare for the NFL overreacting and doing something insane like take away our 1st round pick....a pick that looks like it could be pretty good when this is all said and done.

Doesn't it depend on what incidents occur? This isn't the NFL, but look at Penn State. They were hammered just short of the death penalty for horrible things that all happened off the field. I know that's an extreme example, but I can think of off-field problems that Goodell would hammer harder than what he did on the Saints.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:if they do take away a draft pick or somehting like that, it cant be more then what they took from the saints could it? i guess they could equally make the NFL look bad, but somehting happening on the field would have to be penalized worse then something happening off the field right?Green Habit wrote:If that do that to the Dolphins, combined with what they did to the Saints for the bounties, then I'm going to be even more amazed that they didn't hammer the Broncos for the DUI sprees that they incurred over the past couple of years.4/5 wrote:No. I'm trying to mentally prepare for the NFL overreacting and doing something insane like take away our 1st round pick....a pick that looks like it could be pretty good when this is all said and done.
Of course, that doesn't mean that he'll do that to the Dolphins over this, nor if it's even warranted in the first place.

Re: the miami dolphins
definitely agree, and with the Bullying label being put on it, i guess i could see Goodell being extra tough because of how main stream all the anti bullying stuff is right now, but in these 2 cases, i would see players trying to hurt other players on the field for extra money would be punished more then a team that has bullying happening in the locker room and stuff. i still think when this is all said and done Martin and Incognito will both no longer be with the team, and Ireland will probably be gone, but i dont really see any punishment being handed down by the NFLGreen Habit wrote:Doesn't it depend on what incidents occur? This whole dumb story is still just an unsubstantiated claim by a guy with a notable attorney that the media gobbled up. Obviously that could change, but the amount of focus on the story compared to what we actually know about it has been insane.

I agree, although, and to that end it's well documented that the Patriots were not the only team that was videotaping games from the wrong areas on the field....of course, the NFL did not want to open that can of worms more....who knows what they'd find?Electromatic wrote:Green Habit wrote:If that do that to the Dolphins, combined with what they did to the Saints for the bounties, then I'm going to be even more amazed that they didn't hammer the Broncos for the DUI sprees that they incurred over the past couple of years.4/5 wrote:No. I'm trying to mentally prepare for the NFL overreacting and doing something insane like take away our 1st round pick....a pick that looks like it could be pretty good when this is all said and done.
