Re: Pearl Jam Videos
That is so good. They look like a garage band still. An exceptionally amazing garage band just bringing their tiny little thing to the people. NO flashy lights. No forced singalongs. Just tearing it up. Insignificance is so great here. The stage seems smaller as well, mike seems annoyed because he doesnt have a track to run around. Ed cant swing from lights.
This is till the real deal and it is in the "latter day" phase.

Good post, Strat. Just started this, wow Long Road is beautiful. Looks like I've got the next couple hours tied up...that 2005 tour was pretty special.

Really? It was regarded really highly as it was unfolding that year. Maybe it gets overlooked because of the massive 2006 tour?evenslow wrote:when did this become RM conventional wisdom? don't think i've noticed as much talk of this tour until recently.EJ wrote:that 2005 tour was pretty special.

Unless I'm high, but since that time I haven't heard a ton about it. That's probably b/c people round these parts love to generalize that they've been shit since Riot Act. 2005 is inconvenient for that argument.EJ wrote:Really? Until now, for some reason. It's all part of the ever-expanding "they haven't been really good since..." thing that will ten years from now include the 2013 LB tour.

This is probably my favourite show out of the 10 or so I've attended. Probably has a lot to do with it being in my hometown and in such a small venue. I've seen so many hockey games in that arena, so it was surreal to see PJ play there.

Re: Pearl Jam Videos
it does. I wonder how much of what people see as 'boredom' is conserving strength for marathon shows. They are averaging about 5+ songs more from 2005, and that was 8 years ago to boot.EJ wrote:getting old sucks

Re: Pearl Jam Videos
it gets skipped over in the pearl jam has sucked since Binaural and/or Riot Act rant, but when people are actually having serious conversations about the live shows 2005 and 2006 are both spoken of pretty highly.evenslow wrote:Unless I'm high, but since that time I haven't heard a ton about it.
