Matt Cameron Not Touring With Soundgarden in 2014

Hello Knights of the Soundtable faithful,

I will be taking 2014 off from Soundgarden touring due to prior commitments promoting "Lightning Bolt" with my brothers in Pearl Jam and the desire to have more time at home with my family. I am trying to balance the many twists and turns of my awesome music career. This is temporary. I am still an active member of Soundgarden. Chris, Ben, Kim and I are in the process of finding the perfect substitute for the upcoming Soundgarden dates in 2014.

They seem to only tour about a month at a time so they could break it up and hit all of the regions above over the course of 2014. They have Australia in January and early February already on the books so maybe they add shows outside the festivals there or in New Zealand.

I was wondering when something like this was going to happen once Soundgarden reformed. I can only imagine how busy Matt Cameron has been the last few years playing in both bands.

Given the venues PJ is playing vs the venues Soundgarden was booking last spring, he probably makes a lot more $$$ per show with PJ, which is probably something of a motivating factor

The other side of this coin is that SG broke up once. All those dysfunctional tendencies likely still exist. Im presuming PJ is a more secure route in terms of commitment.

Anyhow, to whoever says he should choose SG instead. I scoff at you!
