At roughly 2 minutes into it, I can't stand the way he says "disaster". Ever since I first heard it, I've not been able to unhear it. It sounds like he's gargling toothpaste.

Is it? Why would that be the point? "Disastgrgeger?"dimejinky99 wrote:harmless wrote:At roughly 2 minutes into it, I can't stand the way he says "disaster". Ever since I first heard it, I've not been able to unhear it. It sounds like he's gargling toothpaste.

This could be really big with the common folk if they released it as a single.

He says it the same on the uke version. Unless I'm not hearing what you're talking about.

I have no idea. It's pretty blatant.dprival78 wrote:yes. how could they not re-record that?harmless wrote:At roughly 2 minutes into it, I can't stand the way he says "disaster". Ever since I first heard it, I've not been able to unhear it. It sounds like he's gargling toothpaste.

Listen again. It definitely sounds like he's gargling toothpaste. He doesn't sound like that on the uke version. It's just the last syllable of that word 'disaster'.stupidmop wrote:He says it the same on the uke version. Unless I'm not hearing what you're talking about.

In the name of science, I have recorded myself gargling toothpaste and placed it alongside the aforementioned vocal performance.

It's a vast improvement. Apparently my real issue was not the gargle itself, but how half-assed it was; Ed just needed to fully commit to it, as you've done here.theplatypus wrote:In the name of science, I have recorded myself gargling toothpaste and placed it alongside the aforementioned vocal performance.

This is weirding me out. I don't hear any toothpaste gargling at all.harmless wrote:At roughly 2 minutes into it, I can't stand the way he says "disaster". Ever since I first heard it, I've not been able to unhear it. It sounds like he's gargling toothpaste.

Re: Sleeping By Myself (Pearl Jam)
There's like a hard 'g' or something on the end of the word 'disastger'. But hey, if you can't hear it then that's good; it's one of two annoying things that other people have gone happily without noticing.Leatherhead wrote:This is weirding me out. Re: Sleeping By Myself (Pearl Jam)
There is something very strange there, and what Vedder sings does not equal the lyrics.

Rank RM's attempts to transcribe the word 'disaster' as sung by Ed on Lightning Bolt!

Re: Sleeping By Myself (Pearl Jam)
"Oh, I believe in love and disaster
Sometimes the two are just the same"
Is actually:
"Oh, I believe in love and disansler
Sometimes the two are just the same"
I even think the whole "love and disaster" line is sung a bit strange.
