I DVR so I listen to the stories only when I hit resume quickly enough after skipping the commercials.

I fucking hated Barrett so much. I was pissed that he kept winning and I had to listen to his stupid fucking voice more.

The stories can suck but skipping them means you risk missing a great Trebek moment.

my main problem with the stories is that they spend 2 minutes talking to these people about something inane and then dont finish the board because time runs out.

I hate the stories. It always seems like they pick the dumbest story of their life to tell.

I only watch the stories if I can tell they're going to be really awkward or strange. If it's someone whose story is going to be, 'We once went to Tacoma and our luggage got lost!' then of course it's a fast-forward.

And here I thought everyone agreed that the stories segment is one of Jeopardy!'s greatest charms.

Having Al Gore read clues does not speed things up.

The tournament of champions is underway and my favorite contestant of recent memory is back.

Colby Burnett won the teacher's tournament and I tell ya, this dude just oozes swagger.

He played in the ToC quarter finals last night and of course he won so we'll see him again in the semis.
I saw an episode with this guy a few weeks ago and wanted to punch him in the teeth.

Have you seen the chick from Huntsville who's back for the Tournament of Champions?

I have. I caught a few episodes of her run in January, but didn't know she was from Huntsville initially.

I was rooting for her during her initial run. Jeopardy had gone through a series of ongoing champions around that time that were really awful to watch, so she was a breath of fresh air.
