Going by my own criteria of "songs which do what they do as well as I could imagine wanting," my list would almost certainly be the longest one posted yet--I'd probably give the nod to 80-85% of the mid-period stuff, with more than a few stragglers from the early and later days. I imagine that would be the case for most of my favorite artists, really--I mean, they earn the title for a reason.
