Every Friday (beginning 11/15) you can catch the world premier of a Lightning Bolt tour show on Sirius XM's Pearl Jam Radio, channel 22. Then the following Wednesday, you can pick up the Bootleg at pearljam.com.

For the first time ever, we are offering Hi-Res FLACs recorded at 96K for higher fidelity.
So, if I'm doing the math right, I can get the bootleg of the Charlotte show in February? WTF?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Thanks. But I'm gonna buy the bootleg. I don't really feel the need to download an audience recording that I'm just going to replace with another recording later.

Why get anything, then, for that matter? Might as well just wait and buy later what you were going to get to replace it.

Technology, phone, computer? Don't buy it now, just wait, you're going to have to replace it anyway with a newer version later.

Clothes for your kids? Nah, you're going to need to replace those eventually, so just wait until they're bigger.

Toothpaste? Screw it - that tube is going to run out eventually, might as well just wait until your favorite flavor comes out.

though a lot of those examples are true, it doesnt exactly work in this case because unless they continue to upgrade and rerelease each boot over and over, then once you have bought the soundboard boot from the fanclub then you wont be replacing it again.

We are talking about a non-critical digital file that I would be upgrading in a couple of months.

All of those examples are either things that are needed daily or get upgraded after long periods of time.

Still, I bet it was a lot of fun to write that post. :P

All the more reason to get an audience boot now, while the memory of the concert is still fresh. It's not like the audience boot is gonna deter you from getting the soundboard and PJ allows for this kind of recording and distribution, so you aren't taking money from the band. All you are doing is pointlessly delaying gratification and missing out on reliving a show you enjoyed.

Yeah, and you never know when they'll have a recording fail, a la Mexico City 2011. Or maybe they'll just decide they don't want to release the show for some reason or another.

There is always a good reason to download an audience recording, particularly a good one.

I was just using the show I was at as an example of how long one would have to wait to get an official bootleg. I've got the really decent quality audience source from the show, and B is missing out because it is a good recording.

Pheonix was great show. It could have been the worst of all the shows and it was still my favorite. I feel like a real fan now. 8-)

For me, I thought it started very strong (though I was a little bummed at no Pendulum, the Release > Low Light was awesome), and I enjoyed all the new material early. There was a point when for me the main set lagged a bit. Even Flow, Daughter, Wishlist ... that wasn't doing much for me. Even Once is not one of my favorites, really, though I would say it was the energy of the crowd during that one that helped get me feeling good again. It's hard to deny the feeling when a crowd is really eating a song up. From there, the end of that set was strong and the first encore was just ... crazy.

Of course I would enjoy any PJ show (SD 2009 is a pretty disappointing setlist, looking back on it, but I had a blast that night.) But this set was way more than I ever would have expected for a mid-week show in Phoenix, where they hadn't played for 10 years.

Has the Even low drum solo been a consistent thing on this tour? I thought that had died back in 06.

In fact, I told my buddy about it before the show (he'd never been to a PJ show before) and mentioned that, as far as I knew, they'd quite doing that in 2006, thankfully. So, when Matt took a solo during the show, he had a good laugh.

That was my first show, so it was completely awesome. There was a superfan sitting behind us - we overheard that he has been to 100+ shows. He probably could answer your drum solo question.

Holy shit 100+ shows.
