I feel ya B but I wonder if the Ten club actually took a hit at all since the manufacturer messed up. The new ones were shipped out by them so what did ten club have to do. They didn't even respond to emails. I was annoyed enough that the record showed up two weeks late but then it wasn't even playable. I can see where it might be unrealistic for the ten club to refund thousands of dollars in shipping costs so now that I've had time to think about it more I think I am just getting fed up with the lack of any customer service over there. They could at least pretend to give a shit.

Y'know, I've been through a few crisises at work. When the e-mails and calls pour in, you get to the first few and then you're like "hey, what the fuck? Something's going on here." Then you stop answering repeat and/or low-priority questions for a few days while you figure out what the fuck is the problem and what can you do about it. Once you figure it out, you issue a public statement with the solution, and fuck all those e-mails that locked up your inbox in the meantime.

I'm sure people who bitched to me about not getting H1N1 vaccine complained that I didn't respond to them b/c I didn't personally reply to their e-mail, but we addressed the problem and put out a solution and that was the best that could be done. And after that, I didn't feed the trolls who knew the solution but didn't like it.

I don't feel bad, and I don't figure Pearl Jam should either.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I had no idea that local health departments were specialty clubs that people had paid a service fee for the right to join, or were, at the very least paying customers for a specific product.

In software services this would be considered bad customer service. This is why you have a dedicated client-facing team maintaining communication with customers, especially during a crisis. The Ten Club might be too bare-bones an organization for that, though.

Also, crisises, B? Really? Crisises.

B does nothing to stop the perception that public employees just dont give a shit.

Hey, I gave a shit. I had to drink myself to sleep most nights during the 2009-10 flu season.

Im sure you do care, but the perception to all those people you didn't respond to is that you don't. In the private sector, that type of customer service would not be tolerated by any decent company.

My last post sounded a lot harsher than I wanted. Not meaning to imply B doesnt care about his job, or a do a great job at it. Just pointing out that a lot of people can't stand how public employees are allowed to operate.

I bitch about that every day. I got mocked by my boss for wondering if we could spend $30 on pizza for the 4 people stuck working on Wednesday, and then I pulled out the paper yesterday and the public housing authority was spending $300 a couple to buy their employees and their spouses dinner every Christmas for the past decade. The only people more pissed off than the public by shitting government employees are the other government employees.

Only if you have gotten your flu shot and/or you tried and could not get it.

.... also, you'd have to live in NC.

Oh my God. The point is that the plural for "crisis" is "crises" not "crisises", genius.

It's like the low light incident all over again.
