Pretty small sales drop this week. From 11,700 to 10,600 (#27 last week, #30 this week). If they're going to do a third single, we'll hear about it soon.

#91-100 of the 100 best selling albums this year as of last week, courtesy of Billboard:

091 284k - WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN…VOLUME 1 - Five Finger Death Punch
092 282k - WARRIOR - Ke$ha
093 278k - NASHVILLE: THE MUSIC OF NASHVILLE: S1: V1 - Soundtrack
094 276k - DEMI - Demi Lovato
095 271k - PARADISE VALLEY - John Mayer
096 269k - PARAMORE - Paramore
097 268k - CHRISTMAS WITH SCOTTY MCCREERY - Scotty McCreery
098 268k - FOUR THE RECORD - Miranda Lambert
099 267k - LIGHTNING BOLT - Pearl Jam
100 262k - WHEELHOUSE - Brad Paisley

listened from ten through into the wild a couple times during my commute this past week and I let it play through today so after Into the Wild LB came on and other than not knowing the words very well I really enjoyed it up until Pendulum then I came home and realized I only had 2 good songs left and am now disappointed again in the fact that they have 3 not so good to really bad songs on an otherwise really good album...whatever, it still surprised me how much I liked hearing it again

thank you,

No, that was a (badly articulated) good point. The frustration with Lightning Bolt is that it's almost really good. I hate Pearl Jam for almost writing great albums but shitting on them in the second half.

So my vinyl finally showed up today from when they shipped it on the 10th of October or whenever - it's a red one!!! There is some type of glue residue on it - but in the package they'd included a second LB vinyl - also red. I haven't unsealed this one to see if there's any issues with it though...

This vinyl did not arrive after a serving of sorbet, did it?

Bought the album loved the artwork.

And I can't stop listening, specially to Sirens.

I knew it would get me anyway.

First half of this album has held up really well. I could turn it off after Pendulum, though. Which kinda sucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars My Dad is Out of Control, October 30, 2013

By Robert M. Flynn "Farmer Ted" (Albany, NY) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Lightning Bolt (Audio CD)

My dad is out of control. I can't stand it anymore. All the dude plays is Pearl Jam.
Pearl Jam in the car. At home. Pearl Jam T-Shirts. (He used to make me wear them...uggg.)
Pearl Jam discussions. Pearl Jam coffee. Pearl Jam license plate. (PJ10Vedr)

I can't stand it. I love him and stuff, but he's really hard to be around.
I embarrassed to have him drive me and my friends places.
He always pops in Pearl Jam or puts it on the stupid Pearl Jam station.
Like anyone needs Pearl Jam 24/7. But people do...like my dad.

He thinks he's getting music cred by playing it. My friends are polite, but it's very embarrassing.
They are all like, "Dude, your dad's music sucks. What's up with that lead singer? He's always Yaaarling and Groaning...and the songs have no melody. Your dad's music sucks."

"I know," I say. "But your dad listens to Phish...so...."

It's bad, and a lot of my friends have similar problems with their dads being mad wack.

I have one whose dad just plays Dave Matthews all the time. Or the one who plays Phish. That really sucks. That guitar dudes solos grate on my ears. Makes me wanna vomit. They go nowhere fast. I guess people are into dudes who play fast??? Can't forget the Rush dad....wow...horrible.

I'm not alone, but sometimes I feel like I am.

This new album came in the mail. (My dad still buys music.)
And he is reenergized with Pearl Jam love.
It's almost unbearable. He had a listening party at his house with all of his friends.
They think they know a lot about music because they are into Pearl Jam.
Try to pass it off on me...it's pathetic.

They all got drunk and I went upstairs to surf the net.
They all started playing their favorite Pearl Jam songs.
"Daughter" came on and they all sang it at the top of their lungs.
So pathetic....It's a horrible song. Who writes songs about people with learning disabilities?
Yo. I got this sweet song. It's about a girl with LD. Cool. Not.
And here are these grown men singing about this...
Why? I can't even fathom. The song is so wack. It must give them something missing in their lives.

They partied all night. It was their Wild Hogs moment. I hope they had fun.

When I woke up in the morning, I head music coming from the bathroom downstairs. I walked by and saw my father standing in front of the mirror with a radio on singing "Nothing Man" as he stared at himself. WTF?

It's just been absolutely terrible. And my dad started liking Pearl Jam in 1993. For 20 years they have been his favorite band. He really doesn't listen to anything else. He may listen to some U2, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, or Black Crows...but 95% of the time it's Pearl Jam. I usually get bored of band after a couple of months. I like to explore and taste the world. Not my dad. Pearl Jam forever.

When I was a baby, I didn't even like music. I would cry when the teacher started to play the piano for sing alongs in kindergarten. I thought she would start Yarllling and Grunting and Growiling. It took years of reconditioning for my ears to accept music. All because my dad wouldn't stop listing to dumb Pearl Jam.

So. If you like Pearl Jam, buy this album. It will fulfill you delusion. Have fun with it. Run with it. Pearl Jam for life. I don't care.
I love my dad. He's been pretty cool to me and my mom and sister. I'm pretty lucky.
I wish he would give Pearl Jam a rest tough because, inadvertently I end up listening to way more Pearl Jam then is ever needed. And their bland, faux rock and roll dulls my world. And makes me seasick.

I just wish he were into cooler music.

Maybe someday I'll be the same.

But I doubt it.

Ha I can only imagine. I know when I was 18 I was that guy. You cannot force your joy of a certain band on your kids or friends. Play it in the car and sing along, but your passion for the band should never overwhelm the development of your child. It is almost like demanding your kid becomes a doctor or coal miner like dad. They are just going to battle against. It. Especially if your passion is more prevalent then the amount of time you spend with your kid or loved ones in a more natural setting.

It is your passion, and it is completely cool to share it with those you love. But never force it on them. My mom never demanded that I enjoy Barbara Streisand or musicals, but I was constantly stuck in the car listening to them. But out of that I ended up enjoying films like West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and The Sound of Music. If she had straight up demanded me to love them I prop ably never would have enjoyed them.
