This is me covering KOL California Waiting, but its more like "holy shit this sucks!" I did it in one take on some hazy afternoon. The two photos in the clip are from a trip to Kauai this past August.
That version of "Wonderwall" completely eclipses the original for me--I was never much of an Oasis fan anyway, but I think of it more as a Ryan Adams song than I do one of their tunes.
When he did that "Wasted Years" cover it immediately made me want to dig out my Iron Maiden records and see if they stand up to scrutiny (I don't think I've listened to any of them since I was 15). I still haven't gotten around to it.
Tom Wait and Bob Dylan's songs seem to always work well for other artists.

You left out the best one...
I know nothing of PJ Harvey. However, that was pretty good. I also considered RATM's version of Maggie's Farm.
I think Scott Weiland is pretty terrible (no matter what the context), but this cover of one of my all-time favorite Depeche Mode songs really got to me the first time I heard it back in 2001. Still tugs at the ol' heartstrings. I wouldn't place it above the original, but it hits me in a different way.
