An advertising executive is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment, only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Yeah, the original is something else. This remake looks pretty fucking pointless.

'Pointless' and 'unnecessary' are popping up in a lot of these reviews.
I think I'm going to revisit the original tonight. Been awhile.

Spike Lee movies are usually either good or (more often) bad in a weird enough way that they're at least interesting.
