Re: The Vinyl Thread: Still Listen On Wax, Don't Use The CD
OH in other news, I was able to get Neil Young's self-titled album from the Archives Series pretty cheap, and it sounds amazing. I'm hoping we get a Ditch Trilogy box set in the next year or two.
I also got my copy of The Magnolia Electric Co's 10th Anniversary Edition; very well done, totally worth the cash. It came with a t-shirt that I'm going to have to do some jogging to fit into, but I can still enjoy both LPs (and the 10'') until then!

How did you manage a pre order on the rsd release? I am lusting after the 2013 mix but my store will have the typical one copy some hipster grabs before me on black Friday....southp wrote:

I'm not sure it's a proper RSD release, or just a "RSD first release"... meaning, that's when it comes out. Either way, I've got it orderedverb_to_trust wrote:How did you manage a pre order on the rsd release? My deluxe Magnolia arrived today. So nice to have a replacement copy and the bonus 10" songs are fabulous.
So good it's scary.

The guy who did the artwork lives in RI and sometimes does art shows down here. I'm hoping to get my original copy signed at some point and get it framed.super nintendo chalmers wrote:My deluxe Magnolia arrived today. So nice to have a replacement copy and the bonus 10" songs are fabulous.

A bunch of third-party sellers on Amazon are selling the TOTD reissue (regular ol' black vinyl, I assume) for $30 (plus 3.99 shipping), which is the cheapest I've seen it. I'm going to wait a few days to see if it dips by a buck or two and then probably pull the trigger (even if it doesn't).

I've got a purple/numbered TOTD that I'd be willing to trade for something.
I'm currently looking for the "PJ rainbow"....White backspacer, Red LB, Colored PJ20. Also need a MLB reissue on MOV.
PM me if interested.

I'm waiting to see if they'll replace my red LB with another red. If they do - then I could be willing to part with one...southp wrote:I've got a purple/numbered TOTD that I'd be willing to trade for something.

Tempted by that one, but then again I don't know when I'd really play it.

Giving it a spin right now - not sure how many spins it'll get till there's a little one in the house...southp wrote:Tempted by that one, but then again I don't know when I'd really play it.

Ok, so I got my 1st turntable. Numark tt usb. Based on what Ive read looks like I will need to replace a couple of things for sound quality (cartridge?). I have an idea of getting a used bose wave radio for around 175.00 for the sound system. I have limited space and funds to get this project underway. Is this terrible or impossible?

I think you'll need a pre amp if you wanna run it though the Bose.
