I was thinking all day yesterday... fuck I bet this show would kick ass to be at as I bet at least 1 member of SK shows up for something...
but ALL 3 MEMBERS!!!!!

They should have kick PJ out the stage and play something..Entertain...

you ever notice how the break down portion of Porch, right before the final verse, has a very similar chord progression as Entertains closing "1 2 3 if ya wanna take a shot at me" parts? but yes, Entertain would have kicked major ass! shocked they didnt do a couple songs really?

Yeah, there was a PJ sounds in The Woods for sure. Im not shocked, but it would have been nice, specially because they were in Portland..

See, I liked this show less than the much shorter, more remote show out in Ridgefield in 2009. I loved "Deep", "You Are", "All Those Yesterdays" and some others but the encores were really, really predictable (even more than normal). Ed was really, really drunk by the end of the first set and botched a lot of lyrics. Hell, he couldn't even remember how to play "Lukin" at first. There were a lot of things I really liked about the show - a great many things - but that first encore didn't do it for me at all other than "All Those Yesterdays". Everybody else around me loved it though.

Also, I am once again Binaural kryptonite. 8 shows and I've been shut out at least 4 times now. Would it really hurt them to remember that this album exists?

Come on Matty. Deep + ATY = good shows. I've been chasing ATY for 53 shows now.

There were a lot of things I really liked about the show - a great many things - but that first encore didn't do it for me at all other than "All Those Yesterdays". Plus, the Porch jam just seemed aimless - like they were just killing time playing with the hanging lights while Ed wandered off the stage to talk to his friends.

I actually liked the second encore a lot more. It was a lot better than it looks on paper. "Black" and "Alive" just tore the roof off the building.

My section was full of people who really loved the new album and old hits and didn't even recognize a lot of the deep cuts. I was the only person rocking out to "Deep".

That's interesting - the 'new album plus greatest hits' section. i don't recall that happening at all with the last few albums. like, casual/greatest hits fans typically didn't know the latest releases. i guess the marketing for LB is working.

How was Deep? Did they nail it?

For the most part, yeah, they nailed it. There was one rough patch at the beginning but after that it was tight. Ed sounded great.

The highlight of the show for the couple next to me was when they played "Lightning Bolt". The same guy looked confused at why I was rocking out to "Animal" and "Spin the Black Circle".

I hate Backspacer, but he really won me over with that version of The End (he said it was a request) Glad he figured out how to sing it. Why Go is a bit tired at this point. But grouping it with SOLAT & Porch late in a Ten-heavy show I thought worked great. Also, how about the slow tempo on Rats? Perfect. The only glaring lyric flubs for me were on You Are & maybe a bit of Infallible. In addition to Sleater-Kinney & REM, one of the West Memphis 3 was sitting side-stage & Ed gave him love early on. Also the soldier from Body of War I think was there & the topic of Ed's only long speech (in the 2nd encore). Matt's son held the birthday cake & tried to smash it in his face but just poked his dad with flaming candles. The sound guy was a little late turning Peter Buck's guitar up when he took his solo, same with Corin's mic when she took the second verse. So fucking cool seeing all those people on stage together, everyone was having a blast.

One more thing I forgot. When Stone accidentally played the opening riff to Alive instead of Black, they all laughed & went in to about a minute of Free Jazz. Ed screamed "it's Matt Cameron's birthday let's play some jazz!". Always fun to see them do that.

There were a lot of flubs. "You Are" was a trainwreck at first until they smoothed it out. Ed couldn't remember how to play "Lukin" at all either. He flubbed several lines in "Life Wasted" as well. Those are the three that come to mind but there were some others too. On the other hand, "Rats" was excellent - really tight, the band was really into it and Ed sounded great. Ed sounded fantastic for most of the show, much better than I expected. I did see him smoking something side stage during a few of the solos.

Man it was great seeing all of Sleater-Kinney on stage. They looked happy. Nobody in my section had any clue who they were - actually, nobody had any clue who Peter Buck was either.

A lot of cool people live in Portland

The purpose of the post was to simply mock my setlist relay images (which he thought were pointless and stupid, apparently)

Now, as to an explanation of the image itself, that I have no idea. I really don't understand what I am looking at.
