that 2005 tour was pretty special.

when did this become RM conventional wisdom? don't think i've noticed as much talk of this tour until recently.

Really? It was regarded really highly as it was unfolding that year. Maybe it gets overlooked because of the massive 2006 tour?

Unless I'm high, but since that time I haven't heard a ton about it. That's probably b/c people round these parts love to generalize that they've been shit since Riot Act. 2005 is inconvenient for that argument.

Until now, for some reason. It's all part of the ever-expanding "they haven't been really good since..." thing that will ten years from now include the 2013 LB tour.

The exceptional quality of the 2005 tour exactly supports the argument for the Post-Riot Act change in the band. There were no avocado songs on that tour and they played an unusual run through a lot of (relatively) small Canadian towns. It wasn't about promotion or attracting fans. It was just the tunes from a great set of 7 albums and b-sides
