agreement
So has the trajectory of both the quality of the music and said "crass corporate decisions" gone up from Backspacer to Lightning Bolt? I tend to stay away from the business side of music, so I don't know about that, but I do know LB is quite a bit better than BS, and I haven't heard about many "crass corporate decisions" lately.
generally was placed in bold for a reason
Well it's hard to generalize when you ignore 1/3 of the contents of the generalization.
i actually had in mind yield and everything dropping off from yield with a slight uptick back at LB
but that is all subjective, so feel free to disagree
and yes, i consider the Vote for Change tour a crass corporate decision (oh my god that's impossible).
I also rooted for Hans to win in Die Hard 1

Now, when this same guy is contradicting himself years later, we (as those muted fans) are still not allowed to point out these obvious contradictions... on a forum... about that band... that we registered for, because we may have done something hypocritical once or twice in our lives? Seriously? We don't have the access to the soapbox that Ed does. Our hypocrisy doesn't affect this community the way his does.
I think some die-hards seriously signed some oath that they can not question the infallible Vedder and his papacy.
I think you've been successfully doing just that here, though... have you been censored?
I have had posts eliminated on the PJ forum by the moderators. Referencing cold confession and/or let it ride = defcon 6 shutdown
the deletion of the entire "Ed fired his guitar tech?" thread on the PJ forum is a page out of the kim jong il school of media management
regular censoring just leaves behind an uninsightful stepford wives residue

Or, you're "BurtReynolds" and you watch other people do things with their life while you edit another post on a message board. Alas, each edit only deepens the hole within.
well guy, people saying the same thing over and over again is incredibly boring and lazy. especially when it's all negative. i should think the sensibilities of theplatypus would be offended not by my calling 'it' out, but by 'it.'

Jorge stop breaking these fights up! I want to watch one take its natural course.

It's boring from both sides to be honest. Nuanced appreciation is far more interesting. The fact that we're all here, still Pearl Jam fans all these years later, but have a variety of opinions. See? INTERESTING.

This place was more negative back in the day. I wonder what happened...maybe we are all sellouts? Making bland comments?
My love of Pearl Jam is very much like my love of Nelson Mandela. Once a violent grass-roots freedom fighter, he was eventually softened into a statesman on a pedestal we could all admire. But, man, what a man.

you never call out another man's post editing. that's a low blow and I am hurt by that. it's not my fault the old link went dead. I try and I try to bring new and insightful ways to point out how pj sucks now, and editing is sometimes required. do you enjoy watching me suffer? does mocking me amuse you? do you feel like a big man now?
