Also Terminator. I never saw part three, but that's supposed to be awful.

other than there was no need for the origin to be told again and the fact his mask is off 9/10ths of the movie i thought the first one was decent

but as for 2 from what ive seen so far..

i guess i can be down with transformer rhino because they cant possibly do him like the comic

i usually like jamie foxx, but i dunno, i think of electro as a psychotic wierd white guy not a hip black guy in a hoodie

so theyre just gonna throw harry in and bam green goblin all of a sudden?? was that norman that was old and sick?? dont like.. you gotta build a harry peter friendship before this

theres gonna be too much shit goin on at once like sm3

i like the sinister 6 idea but theyll fuck it up.. speaking of.. i remember the post credits scene in the jail with the strange dude and lightning (we thought was electro).. well it was obv not him cuz he was white.. so was that norman?? now that i think about it, was oscorp even in the first one?? i forget..

LOTR, Nolan's Batman, Indiana Jones and original Star Wars are have excellent third acts. What good trilogies have horrible third acts besides Austin powers and the godfather?
Batman Forever, Superman III, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi, Rocky 3, The Matrix Revolutions, Jaws 3, Rush Hour 3, Hannibal, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Robocop 3, Poltergeist 3. Most people will tell you Alien 3, though I really liked it. But I also didn't like LOTR: Return of the King. A lot of folks also didn't like Back to the Future 3.

Those are off the top of my head.

Batman forever is a good call. So is Pirates and Alien III. I didn't care about Superman or Star Trek I and II so I can't comment on 3. I didn't know some of these series even had a third movie, so there you go. However:

Transformers I and II both suck, Revenge of the Sith didn't ruin good prior movies, and Matrix II was already a huge step down from the Matrix.

And return of the jedi is excellent!

The entire unofficial trilogy of Star Trek 2-4 was awesome. Star Trek 3 really only gets crap because people are so invested in the 'only even number Trek movies are good' BS. So 3 gets crap and 6 gets overvalued.

No, that's true. I was just thinking of bad part threes. I wasn't considering the previous installments. And I've never been a big fan of "Jedi."

I can't speak to all that. All I know is that I love Undiscovered Country and I really dislike Search for Spock.

The trailer seems to point toward that. But Andrew Garfield keeps playing up characters. In each interview I've seen/read he talks about how the first one was too plot driven, but now that the story is set up they can dive into the world more and really explore these people. So... who knows... actor/PR-speak? Probably. But I maybe the trailer is sneaky.

SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT TO EXPAND THE SPIDER-MAN UNIVERSE ON
SCREEN WITH ALL-STAR WRITING TEAM

Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard to
Collaborate with
Marc Webb and Producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach
on Developing the Universe and Expanding the Story in
“The Amazing Spider-Man 3,” “Venom,” and “The Sinister Six”

CULVER CITY, Calif., December 12, 2013 – In a move to forge a new legacy in the story of
Peter Parker on screen, Sony Pictures Entertainment, in association with Marvel Entertainment,
is developing several new projects in the Spider-Man franchise, with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto
Orci, Jeff Pinkner, Ed Solomon, and Drew Goddard to collaborate on overseeing the developing
story over several films that will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, it was announced
today by Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, and Hannah Minghella, president of
Production for the studio.

The five writers, along with the two producers and Marc Webb, have formed a franchise brain
trust to expand the universe for the brand and to develop a continuous tone and thread
throughout the films. Under the deals, the studio announced that Kurtzman & Orci & Pinkner
are writing the screenplay for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which the studio hopes Webb will
return to direct; the film will go into production next fall for release on June 10, 2016. In
addition, the team will build on the cinematic foundation laid by Webb, Arad, and Tolmach in the
first two movies. They will expand the franchise as Kurtzman & Orci & Solomon will write the
screenplay for Venom, which Kurtzman will direct; also, Goddard will write, with an eye to
direct, The Sinister Six, focusing on the villains in the franchise. Hannah Minghella and Rachel
O’Connor will oversee the development and production of these films for the studio.

In tapping these five writers, the studio and the producers are guiding the future of the franchise
with the writer/producers who have each played significant and key roles in developing such
highly successful franchises, films, and series as Star Trek, Transformers, “Alias,” “Fringe,” Men
in Black, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, World War Z, “Lost,” Cloverfield, The Cabin in the
Woods, and Marvel’s upcoming “Daredevil” series.

Commenting on the announcement, Belgrad said, “The Spider-Man film franchise is one of our
studio’s greatest assets. We are thrilled with the creative team we have assembled to delve
more deeply into the world that Marc, Avi and Matt have begun to explore in The Amazing
Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. We believe that Marc, Alex, and Drew have
uniquely exciting visions for how to expand the Spider-Man universe in each of these upcoming
films.”
What a sketchy writing team. And that's what you're going with for "highly successful franchise"?
