I suspect they lost a lot of non-US members since they've been doing mostly festivals since 2006.broken iris wrote:B wrote:I'm kinda slow on the uptake, so ... back to the video.
Well... I pulled better than 10c tickets from TM for several shows, so unless all the members with 300,xxx+ numbers are going to pick GA or are happy sitting behind GA, it doesn't make a ton of sense for them to stay in. And tickets are the reason most people are still in the 10c.

Yeah but how accurate Forbes is? I mean various sources have Bono between 520 and 900 million. These are only estimates unless they get confirmed.McParadigm wrote:They're spot on re:Paul McCartney, according to a Forbes article explaining why he wasn't on their billionaires list.
No that it matters but any of us could have guessed it was in that area and looking at the numbers for other singers and musicians their selling out isn't really working. With all the effort they've been putting in money grabbing they're 100M short at least.

I only was able to see them once this time, but I used to go 3-4 times a tour, and if I had the resources and time to see them more I would. There is nothing I would rather do.McParadigm wrote:Well, I mean, to each their own.
But honestly unless it comes up in this forum, I constantly forget that that's even a thing. "Oh, yeah, people really do go see these guys live more than a handful of times, I guess." And it surprises me every time, for reasons I'm completely unaware of.
I don't listen to the boots much and don't obsess over set lists or collecting songs, but nothing beats that actual concert experience. It's just amazing.

you're correct on all accountsBee Girl wrote:Man, I could swear at the show Ed actually called it CitiBank, and I was thinking he had it wrong because it was Chase renting the old Easy Street building. Chase didn't rise from the ashes of Easy Street and ES didn't move. They closed one location because the owner of the building raised the rent to more than Matt wanted to pay. So they liquidated the inventory as well as the fixtures and artwork and cleared out. That's my understanding of it.

Are Pearl Jam Fans Nerds?
I enjoy listening to this band and have for 20+ years. And yes, I'm probably a nerd. But, I feel embarrassed for myself and those who are semi-normal when I go to PJ dot com anymore (I just lurk). The typical posts are something along the lines of this:
"blah blah blah (insert Pearl Jam) blah blah (insert something not funny) blah blah blah. (insert the exit slogan: I love this band! or something like that)"
Then the first response is typically:
Next is:
....Seriously, go here: http://community.pearljam.com/viewforum.php?f=4and read a few posts. It's brutal. It always is. The fans that post there are such turds. I can't stand being associated with these people. It's embarrassing.
That is all.
