When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

It was worth it for the simple fact of seeing some douche Pearl Jam fan being drug out of the theatre by security as he screamed to the top of his lungs "I'm in the Ten Club, I'm in the Ten Club!"

All of human history was leading up to this moment.

I guess we can all go home now.

Poor guy what the hell was he thinking? I wonder how many times he posted "Thank you for all you do for us 10C" on the pit.

At Adelaide 2009, a general admission show, those who bought 10C tickets were given wristbands to distinguish them from regular ticketholders. Down the front, a crowd of 10C members had linked arms in an attempt to stop non-10C attendees getting close to the stage. At one point, a guy tried to move closer only to have some banshee screech at him "WHERE IS YOUR WRISTBAND?!" I'm pretty sure he laughed.

Pearl Jam fans are the absolute worst but Ive had nothing but positive experiences at EV solo shows. The shows have been incredible. Sounds like, mostly, Aussie fans and East Coast fans are the douchiest of the douchiest.

The crowd honestly wasn't too bad at the two Vedder solo shows I saw in 2011.

Some goons yelling out "FOOTSTEPS!" and "EVEN FLOOOOW!" but it really wasn't that bad; Ed also didn't seem as distracted by it as he seems to have been from some people's experiences of the US shows.

I've never had any problems with Australian audiences on the whole, though I admittedly don't have much basis for comparison.

My story about douchebags at EV shows is fairly well-documented in some other thread from a few weeks back, so I won't recount it here. I do want to ask if anyone else thinks it's strange that this tour it taking place when it is. I really would've figured that 100% of their career-related activities would've been direct Pearl Jam promotion for at least the first six months after the new album came out.

I thought this too, Lament. It also puts to rest that it is Ed who lacks the tour motivation. It could just be that he fancies a bit more time surfing, catching up with Bruce and seeing the re-formed Hunters and Collectors shows.

Maybe they weren't allowed to play extra shows as a band because of the festival but eddie really wanted to play some shows. Maybe he wants to road test some new stuff :li:

That seems pretty plausible. I didn't even think of that.

I'm sure they're bound by the contract with BDO to have no side shows. I'd guess that Ed has a seperate company setup for his solo shows and aims to earn XXX per year.

Or it's for new stuff and we'll see an Ed album released in 2014.

Ya it did happen. The fans sitting in front of him posted on the Porch that he was punching the seats in front of him screaming out song titles and stuff. He wanted a full blown rock show. I saw two security guards dragging him up the breezeway as he yelled that out. If I'm not mistaken I remember hearing from Ed later in the show that the guy then pissed on himself outside and it got on one of Ed's security guys also. Anyway the guy eventually posted on the Porch and I think it was a somewhat apology. But I can't remember exactly what he said. It was the worst Ed show I'd been. Ed early in the show made a comment about having a show in Milwaukee he excepted a lot of drunk people. It was like he expected trouble so he took the stage ready to battle with them.
