Translation...some selective spending on used equipment can make a big difference. The only item purchased brand new in my setup was the cartridge for the TT. Everything else was researched and put together piece by piece as the right deal came along. To give you an idea, the modern version of those speakers sell for almost $700 brand new. I was patient and got a previous model for less than half that price.

I like that. I often get over-zealous when pulling records to play and end up with a pile beside the TT.
If I were at home, i would now have to listen to this:

Beatles, The ‎– 1967-1970
Label: Apple Records ‎– SKBO 3404
Format: 2 × Vinyl, LP, Compilation
Country: US
Released: 1973

Any of you New England people ever check out Red Scroll in Wallingford, CT? Went today for the first time and came back with a pretty nice haul.

Just got a record player for Christmas. Are there any good record selling websites out there? I am familiar with pop market and was looking for other recommendations.

Get on the Soundstage Direct mailing list; they basically do 10% sales every week, and shipping is free if you order more than $30. They also have discounts for slightly bent covers, but I've never gotten one that is anything more than dinged up.
