Mal, thanks for the constructive criticism. I agree with you.
I have said in this thread (maybe on the old board) that my photos generally lack subtlety and I need to work on my composition. I have imaged photos for years, but didn't shoot anything (beyond vacation photos, anyway) until Zeb called for more people to post photos in this thread. I do like effect-driven photos and enjoy creating "something out of nothing".
Basically, I enjoy the post-production process way more than the actual photography.

finally going through all the pages of this thread, i found so many photos by you and others that are just wonderful. too many to reply to to be honest.

i appreciate what you do with the effects because i am the opposite. i love to snap a photo at the right time and just let it speak for itself. i was never like this in years past when i was in school for visual design. maybe it's the fact that we were supposed to use effects but then i would always try to take it above and beyond. eventually, i stopped altogether. so again, i love to see the way you and others play with the photos.
