Whilst I appreciate the record and can accept the nomination I am sooooo over Hallelujah it just isn't funny. Having said that, perhaps bizarrely, I can still appreciate it as a wonderful song. Just not one that I ever care to hear again.

This gets my vote as well.

Reasons being that in its extensive use of sampling and the liberties that The Dust Brothers take to artfully incorporate them into the melodies, Odelay covers all of my musical g-spots. As if this weren't enough, it's also a damn fun thing to throw on while driving. As everyone knows, no album can be truly perfect if you can't take it on a road trip.

Your boredom with it is subjective. Its greatness is less subjective.

And for that statement alone, and that's a relevant statement for sure, I have to nominate Songs For The Deaf!

Totally agree with you. I wasn't arguing it's inclusion in the list, just making an observation as to my personal feelings.

And I need to go and listen to Odelay again.

arctic monkeys - whatever people say i am, that's what i'm not

every time i come back to this album, i'm amazed that it was a first effort. their subsequent albums haven't been as good, but they have been an interesting band, to say the least. they released a song called r u mine? last year, and if it's any indication of where this band is headed, their upcoming 5th album is going to be a monster.

Paw - Dragline.

Too many memories with this album to be truly objective (like PJs first 3 albums) but I ended up onstage with them playing Pansy one night. Oh yeah, that was fucking awesome.

I can't figure out why I have not just bit the bullet and gone full on Queens of the Stoned Age fan already. I love Them Crooked Vultures, and I remember hearing and quite enjoying Songs For the Deaf a while back. I have no idea why I am not a fan.

Whoa, another Paw fan out there! Love Paw and totally agree about Dragline. I love Death to Traitors too. I am jealous you saw them live. Would love to hear about it. I regret not ever seeing them more than any other band I missed.

I think we should do this list like the Top albums of RM thread. Let's tally the votes until we come up with a clear list of perceived perfect albums.

...Listing to Sticky Fingers right now, and it's pretty damn close to perfect.

I'm gonna reinterpret this as the one perfect record by bands I like, their finest hour kinda thing, Therefore,

The frames - for the birds
Arcade fire - the suburbs
Bob Dylan - blood on the tracks
Van Morrison - astral weeks(I'd say moondance cos Caravan and Into the mystic are on there but the rest is meh)
Of Montreal - Hissing fauna...
The national - high violet
Idlewild - make another world
Calibrate your enthusiasm
