Ha. I don't know, I wasn't there. It's not really the part that concerns me. But yes, the way he was said to have lived his life. So the virtuous man. So Christianity is the faith that came to you "from the inside"? Do you think that it's merely a coincidence that you live in a pervasively Christian culture and have probably heard these stories most of your life?Harry Lime wrote:Ha. I don't know, I wasn't there. Do you accept the supernatural teachings of Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism, etc.? Except for Buddhism - all of those that you've listed have the same origin - so I guess I'd have to say yes.Man in Black wrote:Do you accept the supernatural teachings of Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism, etc.? No. I was baptized Catholic. I grew up with the stories. That no doubt had an influence. But my experience in life and how I dealt with its adversities were not influenced by any religious structure. It was only later that I delved more deeply and found correlations to the Christian faith, and actually many other faiths. I'm not a student of comparitive religions, but I know theree are a lot of overlapping principles.Man in Black wrote:So Christianity is the faith that came to you "from the inside"? But even if you would have placed me before the time of Christ, I would have probably had been a student of Platonism (which heavily influences Christianity).
There are too many layers to this and I can't adequately explain it. I need to do more reading.

So you believe the Angel Moroni delivered the Book of Mormon to Joseph Smith. You believe The angel Gabriel appeared to Mohammed reciting verses of the Koran?Rangi Guy wrote:Except for Buddhism - all of those that you've listed have the same origin - so I guess I'd have to say yes.Man in Black wrote:Do you accept the supernatural teachings of Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism, etc.? Do you take the protestant view on salvation? Or the happier, user-friendly version offered by the Catholics? Or do you have your own views on it?Harry Lime wrote:No. I was baptized Catholic. Other than the fact that science has taught us that such things aren't possible, I suppose.red calzolaio wrote:nothing in this life has proved to me these things didn't take place.Man in Black wrote:What have you seen in this life that makes you believe such supernatural occurrences are possible?Rangi Guy wrote:Personally - I'm cool with all of it.Man in Black wrote:Does it make sense to you that he was born of a virgin, brought Lazarus back from the dead, healed a blind man with mud, fed a multitude with a couple of fish, and rose from the dead 3 days after dying?Harry Lime wrote:I dislike the word "worship". So you believe some supernatural religious stories but others not so much.
